Wally gets a Monday Cover

Wally recently went out Montana to skate some new terrian that had been built over the summer. He loaded up Kathryn's van and along with Mark Conahan, Bryce Kanights, Rich Burton they headed out. They would make stops at Pendleton and Walla Walla skateparks before heading to Spokane to pick up Chris Strople and Rockn Ron.
Now with 6 old skaters in the van they all headed out to Montana. "Team 283" this is the collective age of all the dudes. While in Montana they got to skate 2 secret bowl in the hills over looking Missoula as well as the Missoula, Helena and Butte skateparks.

Fitzsimons in the Windy City

Well the Fitzsimons brothers took a small vacation to visit Mike's side of the family. Along with their dad they mapped out some skate spots. Little did they know that they would bump into 15 year old ripper Chaz Ortiz and get to skate with. Chaz is just coming off the Portland Dew Tour win. It just happened that both Sean and Tucker attended. Thanks for the picture Mike.

Photos by Boomer

A few days ago I (Deegor), met up with Boomer, who happens to be an excellent photographer, and we took some photos. The tricks aren't anything special, seeing as I was exhausted and it was dark, along with a million other excuses I could come up with for not feeling like trying new tricks... But the photos turned out super epic.
Anyways, here they are!

Backside feeble through the pocket.

Frontside Tailslide on the spine.

Frontside ollie on the spine.

Carve over the mouse hole.

Ollie over the flat and down slant of the pyramid.

Organized Chaos

Well Autumn and I drove into Portland to attend Bryce Kanights and Chet Childress's art show ORGANIZED CHAOS. The night was a hot summer night, not only was the weather hot but the event was even hotter. Between Chet's artwork and Bryce's photos there was a packed house that included some of the heaviest skaters in the industry.
I've always love the way Chet skates, he skate everything and he does it because he loves to skate. Chet took the time to hang with Autumn. They both did some art together on the wall and showed Autumn the suit case that he traveled the world with (of course Autumn tried to get Chet to sell it to her). We did end up buying a few pieces of Chet's art.

Also in attendence was Clint Peterson, Daniel Shimizu, Al Partan, Duane Peters, Jason Adams, Lance Conklin, Mark Conahan, and Choppy. After the show DP invited us to the Satyricon so Autumn could experince PUNK ROCK. DP Gunfight as Autumn put it was load and the people danced fun.

First Friday

Well IPS kicked off the summer season with our First Friday event. Wally set up a little street type course with a drop-in out of a U-Haul truck. Some stand outs were Colton Treyhorn, Nick Nelson and Aidan Omstead. At 5 the Pink Gravel took the stage followed by Order & Chaos and ending the night was IPS manger Sean Stuart's band The Surf Vipers. Up next is the Imperial Motion Demo at the skatepark on Friday June 13th and the following Thursday June 18th will be the eS Game of S.K.A.T.E at the shop.

Courtship of Eddie's father visits IPS

Well Brandon Cruz blew into town to hang with Wally. He was know as Eddie on the the 70's TV show Courtship of Eddie's Father. Today he the lead singer of the band Dr. Know which comes to Portland quite often. Wally and Brandon have skated and surfed together back since the mid 70's and will run into each other from time to time.
Brandon spent the afternoon at IPS telling all the guys stories of the past and stories of the road. It was good to meet and spend some to with a legend. Hope he comes back with his band.

We re-arranged the shop!

So I (Deegor) haven't posted one of these bad boys in a looooooong time. Because I am an incredibly talented procrastinator. In fact, I took these pictures about 2 weeks ago, intending on putting them up then, only to wait until now. BUT! This is the way the shop looks now! Seeing as I am currently injured and can't skate, I'll probably be posting more on here. So come check it out more often. Or else.
